A Muhlenberg County man was killed in a motorcycle crash in Hopkins County over the weekend.
The Hopkins County Sheriff’s Office reports deputies responded to a call of a wrecked motorcycle in the road Hopkinsville Road near the intersection of Rutter Avenue on the north side of Earlington shortly after midnight Sunday. At the time of the call, authorities said the complainants were unable to locate the operator of the motorcycle.
According to deputies, when emergency services arrived they found 32-year-old Zachary Lanham of Greenville down an embankment in a wooded area. Deputies said emergency medical services and the Hopkins County Coroner’s Office determined Zachary died on the scene.
According to the investigation, deputies said Zachary was operating a motorcycle southbound on Hopkinsville road when he entered a curve and struck a guardrail.
The Hopkins County Coroner, Madisonville Police Department, Earlington Volunteer Fire Department, and Med Center Ambulance Services assisted the Sheriff’s Office at the scene.
