The Madisonville City Council approved proposed changes to an ordinance affecting residential occupations in the Central Business District.
During Monday night’s committee reports, Ward 5 Councilman Frank Stevenson announced that the Annexation and Zoning Committee had met earlier that day and recommended two changes to the ordinance regarding residential occupations in the Central Business District, which will be sent to the Joint Planning Commission for review.

Ward 1 Councilwoman Misty Cavanaugh reported that the Water, Wastewater, Stormwater, and Engineering Committee met on Monday to discuss the West Noel Interceptor project. Mayor Kevin Cotton introduced the motion recommended by Cavanaugh.
click to download audioFollowing a motion to enter a closed session for discussions regarding proposed or pending litigation involving a public agency, the Council reconvened in Chambers and moved to return to open session. The Council then unanimously authorized Mayor Cotton to sign all necessary documents related to mediation and approved the allocation of $10,000 for the mediation process.
