At this week’s City Council meeting, Madisonville Police Chief Steve Bryan reported on the department’s activities in October, highlighting numerous calls, arrests, and traffic accident investigations.
Chief Bryan reported that the department handled thousands of calls, made hundreds of arrests, and investigated dozens of traffic accidents, all while maintaining an average response time of just over three minutes.

Chief Bryan explained the low drug seizure figures in the September and October reports were attributed to the department’s narcotics detectives being assigned to external task forces—one with the Kentucky State Police Drug Task Force and the other with the DEA Task Force. As a result, he said those figures aren’t included in the local police department’s statistics, which only account for MPD case numbers.
