A multi-generation agriculture family, a lifelong Friend of Agriculture, and others were honored during the 50th annual Hopkins County Farm City Breakfast Wednesday morning.
Mauricio Porras with Tyson presented the Farm Family of the Year award to Marlon and Monda Duncan who have owned and operated Duncan Farms with their family for more than 47 years.
Marlon Duncan expressed his appreciation for the award, but added it was certainly unexpected.
Madisonville Mayor Kevin Cotton presented the Danny Peyton Friend of Agriculture Award to Anthony Mangum for his many years of service to the agriculture community.
Desterie Cunningham recognized Anna Grace Liggins with the Ag Educator of the Year Award.
Hopkins County 4-H Agent Conner Cooper saluted the efforts of the Hopkins County Jail with the award.
And Jason Hawkins presented the Award for Innovation to Claas Equipment that will soon open a new location in Madisonville.
The breakfast was held in the parish hall of Christ the King Church. It was sponsored by the Hopkins County Regional Chamber of Commerce.
