At Monday night’s meeting, the Hopkins County Board of Education swore in re-elected members and moved through a packed agenda, which included approving a draft budget and making key decisions on construction projects and a new position.

The Board then elected Scisney as the Board chair and member Nicholas Foster as the vice board chairman.

In new business, the Board approved the 2025-2026 draft budget, which outlines total revenues and expenses exceeding $92.1 million.

The original cost of the construction was approximately $9 million, with the change order raising the total to over $9.3 million.
