A man sought by local law enforcement in connection to a shooting incident in Nortonville last week has been arrested.
On Thursday, Major Charles Young with the Hopkins County Sheriff’s Office reported that 45-year-old Calvin Long Jr., of Nortonville, was taken into custody on a warrant without incident.
Long is accused of shooting 48-year-old Christopher Almon in the hip during an argument in Nortonville on Friday. Deputies said that Long fled the scene before their arrival, and Almon was taken to the hospital for treatment.
Long was lodged in the Hopkins County Jail on charges of first-degree assault and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
