Public school partners from the districts of Caldwell, Crittenden, Dawson Springs, Hopkins, Muhlenberg, and Webster County, in partnership with Madisonville Community College and Murray State University-Madisonville, have announced the third annual Regional Education Partnership Excellence in Teaching award to recognize outstanding classroom educators.

In a written statement, Madisonville Community College President Dr. Jay Parrent said they are excited to host this event for the third year, demonstrating their ongoing commitment to excellence in teaching and the vital role educators play in shaping the future of our communities. He said they hope this award inspires educators to continue their invaluable work and serves as a reminder of the profound impact they have on their students’ lives.

According to officials, the award was established to celebrate and highlight excellence in teaching across elementary, middle, and high school education. It seeks nominees who demonstrate exceptional skills and dedication to their profession, inspiring and motivating students to reach their full potential. Since 2017, the colleges and school districts have been meeting regularly to discuss issues of mutual importance, plan collaborative ventures, and enhance dual credit programming for students. Officials indicate that several key initiatives have been developed through this partnership since its inception.

Nominations can be submitted online until Friday, April 4. To qualify, nominees must be full-time, regular classroom teachers in an elementary, middle, or high school with a minimum of three years of experience. A committee composed of educators and administrators from each district, along with representatives from the colleges, will select one teacher from each grade level in each district.

The award ceremony will take place on Thursday, April 17, on the Madisonville Community College campus. To nominate a teacher for this recognition, click here.
