A Madisonville man was arrested Tuesday morning on charges of stalking his estranged wife and burglarizing her home.

The Hopkins County Sheriff’s Department reports that between 11:00 and midnight Tuesday 36-year-old Bradley McGregor forced his way into a home at 312 East Main Street in Earlington and unplugged the video surveillance equipment.

According to the sheriff’s office, McGregor then left the residence and drove to Baptist Health Deaconess Madisonville, where he allegedly brandished a knife and tried to force his way into his estranged wife’s vehicle while she was on a call with Dispatch.

Upon arrival, Madisonville Police officers and deputies detained McGregor, who admitted to forcing entry into the residence and driving to the hospital. Authorities also said he admitted to having a knife in his hand while attempting to contact his estranged wife. Police said the victim expressed fear of being harmed by McGregor and believed he would continue to “stalk” her.

McGregor was arrested around 1:30 Wednesday morning and charged with menacing, second-degree burglary and first-degree stalking. He was booked into the Hopkins County Jail.
