In a presentation to the City Council last week, Police Chief Steve Bryan outlined a busy February for his department and shared an update on the progress of the new class at the Western Kentucky Department of Criminal Justice Training in Madisonville.
According to Chief Bryan, officers responded to 3,700 calls, made over 260 total arrests, and investigated more than 30 accidents last month.
click to download audioHe stated that the department seized illegal drugs with a total street value of $1,070, with methamphetamine being the most commonly confiscated substance.
Additionally, he reported that the peak time for traffic accidents in February was Friday mornings at 11:00.
Chief Bryan also shared an overview of the crime statistics, noting a 44% decrease year-to-date.
