The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet has announced that work is planned on the Interstate 69 rehab project in Madisonville this weekend.

According to state transportation officials, the on-ramp from Center Street and Brown Street will be blocked to northbound I-69 at Exit 114 on Saturday. The closure is expected to begin around 4:00 Saturday morning and should be completed by that night.

Officials said there are no other changes to the existing traffic control patterns planned at this time. They said lane restrictions from Island Ford Road to KY 2657 and on the Exit 117 overpass to U.S. 41 will remain in place.

The work is part of the ongoing $10 million interstate rehabilitation project along a 4.34-mile section of I-69 in Madisonville. The work zone stretches from KY 70 to the KY 2657/Fowler Road overpass.
