Mayor Jenny Sewell has announced a significant development for Dawson Springs, revealing plans for a new industrial building.
On Tuesday, Mayor Sewell said a new 50,000 square foot building to be constructed in the West Hopkins Industrial Park.
click to download audioAccording to Mayor Sewell, the funding for the building has been made available through a $2 million matching grant from the Kentucky Product Development Initiative, which is being matched from the property insurance proceeds from the former spec building that was destroyed in the December 10, 2021, tornado. She added that negotiations are currently in progress with the Kentucky Department of Economic Development to secure an incentive package aimed at attracting a 21st-century company that would provide high-paying jobs once the facility is completed.
