Madisonville Woman Charged with Assault and Threatening Police

A Madisonville woman is facing assault charges after police responded to a disturbance on Celeste Lane Sunday morning.

Madisonville Police report officers who arrived at the scene were told by the victim that his daughter, 31-year-old Shametrius Johnson, had assaulted him by smacking him multiple times and grabbing his neck. Officers noted that the victim had scratch marks on the left side of his neck.

When officers were taking Johnson into custody, she allegedly made several threats against the life the arresting officer. After being shackled, police said Johnson attempted to kick out the back window of the police cruiser. Upon arrival at the Hopkins County Detention Center, police said Johnson refused to walk on her own, causing officers to pick her up and try to carry her inside. Officers said Johnson kicked her legs and struck an officer. Once inside the jail, police said Johnson made another threat, stating she would kill the officer.

Johnson was charged with assault of a police officer, domestic assault with minor injury and terroristic threatening.
