On Tuesday, Baptist Health Deaconess Madisonville officials expressed their gratitude after receiving a generous grant from a local business.
According to hospital officials, they received a $1,000 grant from Walmart in Hanson, which was used to purchase supplies for 100 Chemo Buddies bags. These bags, decorated by the Hopkins County After School Arts Program, are distributed by volunteers in the hospital’s Chemo Buddies program. Officials said that the items provide comfort for those undergoing treatment at the Merle M. Mahr Cancer Center, such as lotion, blankets, activity books, and other essential items.
