Webster County Schools Receives the KY Comprehensive Literacy Grant

The Kentucky Department of Education has announced that Webster County Schools is among 39 districts in the state to be awarded a Kentucky Comprehensive Literacy grant.

According to officials, this five-year grant will allocate $1.3 million to enhance professional development, literacy instruction, and various curriculum and family engagement resources for students from Early Childhood through grade 12. The first year of the grant will commence this summer.

School officials have stated that this grant will impact literacy initiatives across the entire district and all grade levels, including funding for high-quality instructional resources, professional learning, and resources for students and families to enhance school readiness and student achievement. They noted a district team worked together on this grant to ensureall grade-band grant requirements were met so the academic transitions between levels are strengthened and student literacy outcomes are improved.
