The Madisonville Fire Department responded to two locations last week to evaluate potential storm damage.

Officials from the Madisonville Fire Department reported that six firefighters were dispatched to 632 Hopewell Street after receiving a call from the tenant Thursday afternoon, indicating that a tree had fallen and struck the residence.

Firefighters arrived at the scene to check the structure’s stability and confirm that the weather head was unaffected. They reported that Madisonville Municipal Utilities had been contacted before departing the scene.

In a separate call Thursday afternoon, three firefighters were sent to 60 Lovan Street, where a tree had fallen onto a power line. Upon arrival, firefighters said they discovered a cable line across the road and a tree leaning against a main power line, weighing it down in the yard. They said neither line was sparking.

Firefighters left the scene after Madisonville Municipal Utilities arrived and cut power to the main line.
